You probably didn't know that getting caught driving with
a suspended license (DWLS) is a much more serious
matter than a traffic ticket...
Did you know...
- You can go to jail for up to six months and be fined up
to $500 for a first offense.
- The minimum sentence for a first conviction is three
days in jail.
- The DPS may impose a $250 surcharge on your license
renewal should you be convicted of DWLS.
- A second offense can be punished by a maximum of 1
year in jail and a fine of up to $4,000.
- Your Texas Drivers License can be suspended for the
failure to take care of a traffic ticket in another state.
- Your license can be suspended if you have a default
judgment entered against you in a civil suit involving the
operation of a motor vehicle.
The State of Texas takes driving with a
suspended or invalid license very seriously.
So should you.
If you are driving with a suspended license
STOP and do what needs to be done to lift
the suspension.
If you are charged with driving with a
suspended license, CALL immediately so
that we can get started defending you.
I have helped people just like you avoid
prosecution for driving with a suspended
license.
